Local fire suppression systems for commercial kitchens, aerosol fire suppression in electrical panels and rooms, and a computer room fire suppression system.
Application
Local fire suppression systems over cooking ranges and hoods, using wet chemical agent.
What we install & maintain
A fire in fryer oil or in the hood cannot be put out with water — water makes it worse. That is why a local suppression system goes above the cooking line: it triggers on its own and also extinguishes inside the duct. We design, install and maintain the complete system — not just the cylinder.

The service →Periodic inspection, maintenance and refilling of portable and wheeled fire extinguishers.

| When it is required | The code (P.D. 41/2018, Ch. A, 7.2.4) and Ordinance 3/2015 for food service refer to Fire Service Ordinance 15/2014, which sets when and how a local suppression system is installed. |
|---|---|
| Extinguishing agent | With a cooking-oil appliance over 10 litres, or more than one such appliance of any capacity: a system for class F fires (wet chemical). With a single fryer up to 10 litres: a powder or foam system plus a class F portable (at least 25F) next to the appliances — that portable is also required in kitchens without a system whenever cooking oils are used (3.6.2). |
| Operation | Automatic and manual; protects the area above the cooking appliances and inside the duct (3.6.1). |
| Design | To a standard: EN 17446 (or NFPA 17A where specified); otherwise the Ordinance sets minimum features — e.g. nozzles at least 0.80 m above the appliances, cylinder up to 9 m from the furthest appliance, bulb rating at least 182 °C for class F (3.6.1, 3.6.3). |
| Portable wet chemical | Charges of 2, 3, 6 or 9 litres depending on the 5F to 75F rating (Table 2). |
Which framework binds a given building depends on the date the building permit was applied for and on its occupancy classification. The binding requirement comes from the approved fire-safety study.
From our projects
Local fire suppression systems for commercial kitchens, aerosol fire suppression in electrical panels and rooms, and a computer room fire suppression system.
Supply of all fire-protection equipment for the hotel and the restaurant: fire detection, voice alarm (PAVA), gas detection, fixed fire suppression systems, kitchen fire suppression and fire pump set.
Annual maintenance of fire detection, voice alarm (PAVA), gas detection, fixed fire suppression systems, kitchen fire suppression and the fire pump set — hotel and restaurant in the same building.
Frequently asked questions
When the kitchen has an appliance with over 10 litres of oil or more than one oil appliance (e.g. two fryers). Fire Service Ordinance 15/2014 then requires a system for class F fires, i.e. wet chemical.
The complete system: cylinder, piping, nozzles, release mechanism, manual pull, thermal links and gas shut-off where fitted. Where the system has a pyrotechnic actuator, it is replaced every three years together with routine maintenance.
Yes — we maintain and refill portable wet chemical extinguishers within Attica, as a Recognised Maintenance Company (EUROCERT 10.13.0209.01); their hydrostatic test is carried out at our own re-inspection centre (EUROCERT 10.13.0208).
