Fire Detection & Alarm

Early detection buys the minutes needed for evacuation and intervention. How early it will be is decided at the design stage — not by the equipment.

What it includes

  • Design of coverage, zones and detector locations
  • Choice of detection type for each area — optical smoke, heat, optical beam, aspirating
  • Installation of control panel, detectors, manual call points and sounders
  • Voice alarm (PAVA) where required
  • Programming, testing and staff training
  • Periodic maintenance and functional testing

Types

What we cover

Conventional systems

Zone-based detection. Small and medium-sized installations.

Addressable systems

Precise location of each device. Large buildings.

Optical beam detection

Large open spaces — warehouses, industrial buildings.

Aspirating smoke detection (ASD)

Very early detection in critical areas.

Voice alarm (PAVA)

Directed evacuation to EN 54-16.

Frequently asked questions

What clients usually ask

Conventional or addressable?

In a small building a conventional system is sufficient. In a large one, an addressable system tells you exactly which device has activated — critical for response time.

How often is it inspected?

Periodic functional testing of the system and testing of detectors at regular intervals, recorded in the Inspection and Maintenance Logbook.
