Sklavenitis Ready-Meal Production Unit, Magoula
Local fire suppression systems for commercial kitchens, aerosol fire suppression in electrical panels and rooms, and a computer room fire suppression system.
Application
Production facilities with risks specific to each line and material.
What we install & maintain
In industry, requirements depend on what is produced and what is stored. We handle fire hydrant and sprinkler systems, fire detection, flammable and toxic gas detection and fixed suppression systems for electrical rooms and plant rooms — from design to maintenance.
Fixed fire water networks, fire hose cabinets and sprinkler systems.

| Occupancy category | Manufacturing and related activities — JMD 136860/1673/F15/2018 (FEK B' 6210/2018). |
|---|---|
| Scope | Manufacturing and related activities, together with the ancillary spaces on the same plot and under the same ownership/operation: offices, storage, plant rooms, boiler rooms, changing rooms, staff catering. Offices, storage or commercial spaces in an independent building or fire compartment with their own escape routes and exits are assessed under their own rules (art. 1). |
| Risk category | O nil · A1 low · A2 and B medium · C high (Annex A); they correspond to categories Z1, Z2, Z3 of the building codes (art. 3 §1). A category O, A1 or A2 plant moves up to B if it stores more than 1 m³ of flammable liquids with a flash point below 55°C, unless these are liquefied gases or the storage is in a separate fire compartment (art. 3 §3). |
| Mixed activities | The facility takes the most onerous category, unless each part is a separate fire compartment with its own escape routes and exits (art. 3). |
| Several buildings | Each independent building on the site is assessed separately. |
| Fire certificate | The procedure follows Fire Service Ordinance 13/2021; whether the activity needs a fire safety permit is shown in the table of Fire Service Headquarters document 48689/F.704.4 of 3-9-2025. |
Which framework binds a given building depends on the date the building permit was applied for and on its occupancy classification. The binding requirement comes from the approved fire-safety study.
From our projects
Local fire suppression systems for commercial kitchens, aerosol fire suppression in electrical panels and rooms, and a computer room fire suppression system.
Design and construction of an automatic sprinkler system and fire hose cabinet network with firefighting equipment stations, with fire detection, at an operational industrial site.
Frequently asked questions
From Annex A of JMD 136860/2018, according to the activity (art. 3). Note: a category O, A1 or A2 plant moves up to category B when it has a storage tank or stored quantity (cylinders, containers, drums) of more than 1 m³ of alcohols, ketones or other flammable liquids with a flash point below 55°C. This does not apply to liquefied gases, or when the storage is housed in a separate fire compartment (art. 3 §3). The classification is made by the fire study engineer; the required fire protection measures follow from it.
Yes, wherever flammable gases, or flammable liquids with a flash point below 55°C, are stored or used: in enclosed spaces JMD 136860/2018 directly requires an automatic flammable gas detection system (art. 8 §5), even in a plant using no more than two 25 kg LPG cylinders (art. 11). Where hazardous gases such as refrigeration ammonia, chlorine or hydrogen are used, the detection system must be able to shut off the gas automatically, and the plant must keep at least one special protective suit (art. 8 §8). The detector layout is set in the fire study.
With fixed gaseous or aerosol suppression systems — for the whole room or inside the panels themselves. We design, install and maintain them.
