Gas Detection Necessity
12.10.2015
One of the major dangers for the safety of workers and those who are moving into places containg gases, is late detection of a possible leak. Gases are divided into two basic categories according to their risk type:

  • Flammable - explosive, among which is hydrogen, LPG, natural gas.
  • Toxic - asphyxiating, such as cyanide, carbon monoxide, nitrogen and carbon dioxide.
The risks may be many, such as poisoning, ignition and explosion. Many times we have been informed by the media about such accidents. Quite often, these accidents, especially when made in industrial facilities, result in a large number of victims and injured individuals. But gases are not only used for professional applications such industries and laboratories, but also for simple household purposes. The development of natural gas in recent years in certain urban agglomerations, has made this fuel useful in many homes both for heat and for cooking needs. Apart from natural gas, for the same applications, LPG can also be used, when the area is not supporting a natural gas network. With the surge in oil prices, more and more domestic consumers are turning to these fuels for greater savings.
So, not only business applications - something which was already known - but now almost every household turns to the use of gas.
For this reason, gas detection is important, because it is often requires by the regulations for connecting consumers to the gas network, or by the Fire Service to issue Fire Safety Certificate when it comes to professional application.

In our stores you will find a wide range of equipment suited to each case, in order to entirely cover your gas detection needs.
